This famous quote from the romantic poet John Keats perfectly describes our universe. Through our authentic Parisian boutique L’Île aux Fées and its classic smocked dresses, our deepest wish is to convey the joy of childhood.

Timeless pieces, our dresses are designed to add bliss and beauty to your little ones’ special moments. Jewels to be preciously kept as heirlooms and bring back happy souvenirs!
To make children feel unique, to awaken the princess lying within every little girl, we delight in making limited editions with one, great maximum two models per size only.
Behind our brand lies the passionate skill and generous soul of our now seventy years old founder and designer Monique Ramahay.
Lovingly nicknamed the“Queen of Smocks”, her discerning taste and expert eye for colour harmonies can be felt throughout all her collections. Highly talented, she alone makes all our fabric and design choices. Season after season, her thriving imagination gives birth to new designs.
Imbued with a chic and classic French style, her collections are nonetheless constantly renewed through fresh shades, prints and cuts! Offering infinite possibilities, Monique loves nothing more than letting her creativity whirl to invent new smocks! Role model for us all, she will never cease to astonish us.
To allow creativity to rhyme with quality, Monique works hand in hand with a small but highly dedicated crew, almost a family!
Pioneer at the time, she was among the very first, more than thirty years ago, to unite the exceptional craftsmanship of her birth island Madagascar with timeless French elegance. Raised between the two countries, she took the very best of each culture to create her very own atelier and magical universe.
Based in our Madagascan atelier, our production team brings to live her exquisite creations. Made of fourteen women and one man, they are real experts in traditional handmade smocks and embroideries.
Fully at home in the French capital where Monique has spent more than half of her life, in love with its refined atmosphere, sophisticated manners and outstanding culture, the choice of a Parisian boutique came as an evidence. It is in the capital that she meet her young soul partner, Sybille de La Presle who will have the pleasure of welcoming you to L’Île aux Fées.
